Seventeen

He rolled over in the bed and huffed out a sigh. Alone, always fuckin’ alone these days, and even with the touring and all he’d finally resolved in his life that one thing was still unresolved. Hell even when he’d been married he was alone on tour so it shouldn’t bother him, but back then when he woke up out of sorts in the middle of the night he could always call his wife, always hear a sweet voice and at least calm the beast a bit. Now however, there was no wife, not even a girl friend and the beast of desire was coursing through his veins. True he could have resorted to old king of swing days, found some willing lady from the concert, but Linds words had hit him deep and true. He didn’t want that, hell he didn’t want what had even passed for love the last few years. He sat up, his hands scrubbing at his face as he pushed the sleep away.

He wanted a drink, something, anything, to dull the ache that was building inside. The band was happy, he’d been his old self of late, but that ache, the one he could push down while playing or goofing off with the guys just couldn’t be denied in the dark hours of the night. Shadowy brown eyes glanced through the door of the hotel bedroom into the small living room, honing in on the bar at the far end. Just one drink wouldn’t hurt; after all he’d resolved his issues with rehab and counseling. Hell he still called the counselor on tour. He stood and padded naked into the living room, ready to find a little solace and maybe some sleep inside the sweet cool bite of shot of his favorite drink, until he spied his laptop sitting on the small coffee table.

He rolled his eyes and decided to lose himself in the forum instead. Maybe, just maybe she’d have replied to his message and instead of a drink, he’d lose himself in her words, it was a hell of a sight healthier than one drink that might lead to more could be. Flipping the laptop open he hit the power button and within moments was logging in to the welcome sight of the blinking message flag. Within two minutes he was roaring in laughter at being brought to task for writing such a hot chapter. She snuck online at work? The little heathen, served her right to get all heated up.

He opened the reply box and settled in. Time to work the little missy’s nerves a bit.

Subject: Warn me fuck it all

Well Darlin that’s what naughty girls get for reading at work. Let this serve as a perpetual warning, I won’t warn ya again, I am going to make it hotter than hell if I can. I am always about the hot, but then look whose asking me for a warning. We should have those caution flags all over that thread, your posts included.

To answer your question, damn straight I write from experience, along with a dash of wishful thinking and fantasies I haven’t managed to make real yet. Wanna help me with that? ;) ((Just joking Darlin, maybe))

He leaned back, his brows furrowing as that thought rambled around his brain. Was she the type to be as adventurous in real as she was in words? Could she take his brand of insanity? She was as real as they came, funny smart and creative. Usually if their brain was wired that way, even if they seemed demure on the outside, he could always find the devil hiding within the girl. He wanted to meet her, talk to her, see what she was like. He was pretty sure she wouldn’t be a blonde bombshell but in some ways he was glad about that. She had been right after all, he needed more real in his life. Settling his fingers onto the keys he continued his response.

But since you asked me, I just gotta ask you, do YOU write from experience too?

As he hit reply he noticed she’d sent an earlier message, so quickly opened it and began to read. Finishing the note he opened a new reply box and stared at the screen, wondering how honest he could be without giving himself away too much. In some odd way he wanted to give her that, his honesty, but he didn’t want to scare her either. He was sure finding out she was talking to the real deal just might send her running and that was something he didn’t want to even contemplate.

Subject: Well now

Wow a very long message with a few deep thoughts huh? I’ll try and repay in kind. First things first, Guys who expect that are assholes and stuck on stupid as you said. Fuck at the least you should wine and dine a girl in total style before expecting anything….
*sees the frying pan coming* STOP! I’m just joking, fuck. LOL..

A woman deserves to be pampered and treated like the blessing she is, MacDonalds is an option only if you’re driving long distances and starving. She deserves long walks and talks before ya ever think of asking more. Women want romance not wham bam thank you ma’ams. Ok, so maybe in my younger years I thought more like the idiots, and my life style sort of catered to that. But hey, I grew up, and most of the young idiots you know will grow up too, one day.

I don’t know why that leads to this, but it begs the question of just how old you are. Yeah yeah I know never ask a lady her age, but I’ve never actually been a proper sort of person, and I wanna make sure I’m not writing with and talking to jail bait.

As to what I do for a living that keeps me busy. Believe it or not I work in the music business. Seriously I really do, so I do a lot of traveling. Kinda puts the old kibosh on finding a date at times ((unless ya want meaningless sex, and even though I love sex, I want it to mean something these days))

Wow, your question is.. well interesting. Never thought of it like that. Hell someone asked once upon a time how ya tell which light is the red one. Answer top one duh, but to be asked what do you really see? Now that’s deep, but hard to explain…

In some ways its hard to define shadings, sometimes it is pale shades of brown. Fun huh? See it all in brown think clothing matches only to have someone tell ya babe, that’s just not working, that green shirt just don’t go with those red pants. Well hell who knew they were red or green, looked brown ya know? Thought they were something else.

Be thankful for money.. for new advances in eyewear and contacts that can correct the issues? You betcha sweet ass.

Eh the work thing doesn’t sound too fun. Ever thought of a career change? You have talent, maybe you should write for a living or find yourself a rich man to .. naaah your too independent I bet, to find a guy to support you right? Ha.. yeah..

Well bummer on the chapter, I haven’t checked yet so maybe you’ve had a chance to rebut my chapter with one of your own. I’ll have to check after sending this one.

Talk at ya soon Darlin,

S.
